Tämä uusi versio TCM:stä on kyllä yksi huonoimmista Re-Makeista aikoihin (Psycho, anyone ). Vanha versio hakkaa myös minun mielestäni uuden mennen tullen. Uudessa versiossa pääosassa tuntuu olevan enemmänkin pääosan esittäjän etuvarustukset kuin mikään muu. Ihan mukava niitäkin tosin oli katsella, mutta eivät ne sentään leffaa pelastaneet.

Ja näyttää ikävästi siltä, että julisteet ja mainoslauseet yms. on mukailtu The Ringin vastaavista. Sinänsä ymmärrettävää, sillä elokuva tarvitsee enemmän julkisuutta kuin mitä se saa Sarah Michelle Gellarin uudesta roolista Scooby Doo -leffojen jälkeen ja uppo-oudosta japanilaisesta ohjaajasta. Ilman The Ringin nostattamaa kohua Aasialaisen kauhun loistavuudesta tämä elokuva saattaisi olla aikamoinen floppi. Nyt tulevaisuus näyttää suht koht valoisalta ja lisää remakeja on varmasti tiedossa.

The trade says that after just one week of principal photography, Griffin, a screenwriter who was making his directorial debut on the project, is being replaced, with Reiner in talks to take over the reins on what has been called the untitled Ted Griffin project. The studio has reportedly shut down filming, which it plans to resume August 18. Griffin wrote the script for the romantic comedy. The film is about a young woman (Jennifer Aniston) who puts her marriage plans on the shelf so she can return home to Pasadena and unravel family secrets. She has discovered that the 1967 film The Graduate was probably based on her family, her grandmother (Shirley MacLaine) was Mrs. Robinson and she doesn't know her real father.
Another day, another remake and this time it's Eli Roth at the helm. Roth made an impact with his debut feature Cabin Fever, and has added a new project to his ever-growing list of Things To Do. The Bad Seed is the remake of a 1956 film, about a seemingly perfect child with a hidden secret. "The original was a great psychological thriller, and we are going to bastardize and exploit it, ramping up the body counts and killings," said Roth. At last someone is honest about the remake process! The original film made waves at the time by applying Freudian psychology to the mind of a child killer, but suffered from some serious over-acting. Mietitäänpäs hetkinen, vanhassa versiossa oli surkeat/vastenmieliset näyttelijät, surkea kuvaus, ei verta pätkääkään, tunnelma surkea, musiikkia tukemassa "jännitystä" tuskin ollenkaan, joten kyllähän sen täytyy parempi ollakin... En voi ymmärtää, että tuosta joku voi nauttia. No, tietysti, jos ei paremmasta tiedä.
Minusta tuo kuvaus sattuu paremmin uuteen versioon. Itsekään en pitänyt vanhasta versiosta, mutta pisteet nousivat, kun katsoin uuden. Hyvän kauhuelokuvan salaisuus ei ole siinä kuinka paljon verta näytetään - ihmismieli on siitä kummallinen, että kaikkea ei tarvitse näyttää kauhutunnelman saavuttamiseksi. En voi siis ymmärtää, että tuosta uudesta joku voi nauttia. No, tietysti, jos tykkää Bielin tisseistä ja perseestä.

KaDee Strickland ("Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid") and Ione Skye are signing on to play opposite Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon in the Farrelly brothers' sports comedy "Fever Pitch." The Fox project is based on British author Nick Hornby's book, described as an autobiography and a soccer bible rolled into one. The veteran comedy writing team of Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel Americanized "Pitch" so that it focuses on baseball. The story line follows Fallon as a man obsessed with the Boston Red Sox and Barrymore as a woman caught in the middle. Strickland and Skye would play Barrymore's best friends.
