First, we present 1971’s THE SHIVER OF THE VAMPIRES (Le Frisson des vampires). Blending horror, eroticism, fairy tale, and surrealism to create a unique and arresting cinema of the fantastique, this ravishing film follows the exploits of a newlywed couple as they encounter a series of bizarre and sinister events at a deserted château. Featuring exquisite cinematography by regular Rollin collaborator Jean-Jacques Renon, and a thrilling jazz-rock score by Acanthus, this new 4K restoration will world premiere as a Limited Edition 4K UHD with Dolby Vision HDR and also as a separate Limited Edition Blu-ray. Twinned with Rollin's 1971 classic is a later entry from his oeuvre, 1997's TWO ORPHAN VAMPIRES (Les Deux orphelines vampires). Featuring startling performances from novice leads Alexandre Pic and Isabelle Teboul, who play the seemingly innocent blind orphans, alongside Tina Aumont (Modesty Blaise) and Rollin regulars Nathalie Perrey (The Nude Vampires) and Brigitte Lahaie (Fascination), TWO ORPHAN VAMPIRES is a beautiful and melancholy summation of Rollin’s career. This new 4K restoration will world premiere as a Limited Edition 4K UHD with Dolby Vision HDR and also as a separate Limited Edition Blu-ray. Newly remastered from the best available film elements, both of these essential releases contain expertly encoded presentations, a comprehensive range of new and archival extra features, improved English subtitles, and 80-page books with new essays, historical articles, contemporary reviews, and film credits.

Erinomaista! Ja samaa mieltä tuon UK-version kansitaiteesta (olisivat nyt edes valinneet oikeasti ajanmukaiset miekat!) ja olen siksi pitänyt tallessa vanhemman DVD-julkaisun.
