    Hi,

Wondering if there is a difference in picture quality in the transmission of normal channels if its terrestrial or cable? Is it so that channels via cable broadcast is better quality than via terrestrial broadcast?

How can i check if my locality, we have terrestrial or cable broadcast?

    Thanks,
    Pavi

Should be the same bitstream on normal channels, but on some areas HD versions might not be available through cable or by terrestrial broadcast. Usually if you don't know, ask your neighbor if you live in apartment building. If you have own house then look for antenna if it is there then chances are that you have terrestrial channels only. . But as today most TV:s will have both tuners built-in you will see the situation by searching channels and then looking at what you find.

In some areas terrestrial frequencies are also sent through cable but this should have ended mostly almost everywhere.

You can also google "*your city here* kaapeli-tv" For example in Tampere it is ttv.fi and in most cities cable network is operated by Elisa or Sonera.
